Anti-Aging Veggies and Fruit

Anti-Aging Fruits and Vegetables

Those that are high in Vitamin C seem to be the best anti-aging fruits and vegetables. Vitamin C is a natural healer than boosts the body’s immune system. Higher levels of Vitamin C have been linked to reduced risks of heart disease, heart attacks, strokes, high blood pressure, diabetes, and certain cancers in both men and women.

It’s a wondrous thing, how the human body is meant to heal and restore itself. Cuts heal themselves, infections can be cleared up on their own, and even broken bones mend and repair. And when it comes fighting the effects of time, there are actually anti-aging fruits and vegetables that actually work.

They may not be miracle pills that you can take when you’re 80 and expect to live forever, but it is true that many persons today are living longer than they ever did before, and it may be partly due to what scientists and doctors are finding out about how our bodies actually work. We now know more about how the things we put into our mouths affect our systems overall, including the aging process. By following a diet rich in anti-aging fruits and vegetables, a person can not only extend their life, they can also look great as they age as well!

Higher levels of Vitamin C have been linked to reduced risks of heart disease, heart attacks, strokes, high blood pressure, diabetes, and certain cancers in both men and women.

Anti-aging fruits and vegetables should also contain high amounts of Vitamin D, which is important for healthy bones and teeth. Vitamin D is produced naturally when we are exposed to sunlight, but it’s said that when we reach our 70′s, we are producing only about 40% of the Vitamin D our bodies need.

Anti-oxidants, the elements that our bodies use to fight free radicals or the agents that damage healthy cells, are also necessary as we age and are found in all anti-aging fruits and vegetables. These anti-oxidants help our body’s to repair themselves from the inside out.

So with all that being said, what are the best anti-aging fruits and vegetables? Obviously citrus fruits as they contain high amounts of Vitamin C. This includes oranges, tangerines, limes, and grapefruits. Bananas, strawberries, blueberries and apples are also high in many vitamins. Cantaloupe, peaches and apricots have those vital anti-oxidants as well.

And of course you don’t want to overlook the vegetable part of anti-aging fruits and vegetables. Having a healthy digestive system is vitally important for your overall health; if your body is working hard to digest that heavy steak or spicy burrito, you’re overworking your heart and lungs that are sending blood and oxygen to your stomach and intestines. Anti-aging fruits and vegetables are those with a lot of fiber that help the digestive process along. This includes all green leafy vegetables such as lettuce, spinach, and kale. Carrots, cucumbers, and celery are also crunchy, fibrous, and healthy.

It seems from most research that all fruits and vegetables can be considered "anti-aging fruits and vegetables," so there really isn’t much of a need to decide whether or not to have a certain piece of fruit or whether or not to have a salad – the problem simply lies in making these great products a regular part of your diet in the first place!

Common Vitamins and over the counter products can help with aging such as Vitamin A, Vitamin B, Vitamin E, Selenium, Beta Carotene, Lycopene, L-Glutathione, Vitamin D, Green Tea, and Antioxidant.

Vitamin C, E and some forms of Vitamin A and the mineral Selenium are known to be antioxidants that help to protect the body from these free radicals.

Vitamin A is stored in the liver and fat cells of the human body and can reach toxic levels. DO NOT take more than the recommended dosage of Vitamin A.

Up to one-third of older people can no longer absorb Vitamin B from their food. Vitamin B is needed to form red blood cells and keep nerves healthy.

The mineral Selenium has been associated with a significant reduction in the incidences of lung, colorectal and prostate cancer. Good sources are fish, asparagus, brazil nuts, meat, poultry and bread.

Beta Carotene helps protect Vitamin C from oxidation, which enables it to perform at optimum efficiency. Symptoms of Beta Carotene deficiency include ache, dry dull hair, dry skin and thickened scaly skin on the palms and soles of the feet.

Lycopene is very powerful in quenching free radicals as is L-gultathione. Ultra Antioxidant allows cells to perform more efficiently with less oxygen, enabling sufficient oxygen to be utilized for the cells and organs that specifically need it.

Vitamin D is manufactured in the skin following direct exposure to sunlight. Many studies show that Vitamin D production decreases in older people and in those who are housebound. Vitamin D is needed by the body to absorb calcium, which makes your bones stronger and helps prevent fractures.

Green Tea Contains antioxidants that may protect against heart disease, several types of cancer, and skin damage.

Natural antioxidants are abundant in fruits and vegetables such as, apples, blueberries, broccoli, cherries, cranberries, grapes, spinach, and Spirulina a blue-green algae.

A 2006 article in the Journal of American Medical Association suggested that by periodically restricting our caloric intake to as little as 890 calories a day, or fasting, resulted in a decrease in insulin levels and body temperatures, another two biomarkers of longevity. Restricting calories helps to eliminate the free radicals by burning off more calories than you take in thus reducing the amount of fat stored in the human body.

Skipping a meal here and there from an evolutionary point of view would be beneficial. The human body is used to going days without eating anything but today we have constant access to food and we are taking in calories all day long.

Are you overwhelmed with all the hype about anti aging skin care treatment products that constantly hit the market and all promise to be the best? You are not alone. In this fast moving age that we live in, the difficulty is not quantity but quality of information.

Seeking to find the best anti aging skin treatment for myself, I crossed checked various documentation that I found in books and on the internet.

What I came up basically boils downs to the fact that, when you want to start your own anti aging skin treatment, you are faced with two options: You can either opt to go for a more drastic cosmetic procedure such as chemical peeling, laser skin rejuvenation and dermabrasion, or, on the other hand, you can follow a less aggressive treatment, using anti aging skin care treatment products.

First, the cosmetic procedures.

Today, there are many different methods to choose from and, as you understand, it is difficult to cover them all in the space of a short article.

What I will do instead is to give you a very broad overview of their pros and cons:

Pros: The only substantial upside of these procedures is that they are generally much quicker, i.e. when compared to just using skin care products, you can see visible results very soon. If done successfully, you a cosmetic procedure can give to your face, neck, chest, or hands a refreshed look.

Cons: When you consider their downsides, however, there are many things that you need to evaluate beforehand. The most important are the following:

  • The downtime until you recover: After the procedure, you might have some effects such as swelling and inflammation that may take days to a month to fade away. This may upset your social, everyday life.
  • Potential pain involved. Since these procedures are drastic, they might be painful.
  • The cost of these might be prohibitive. In the total cost, you will have to include any follow up visits as well.
  • The results are generally temporary. Of course, there is a wide variation depending on the method, but in general, they require to be performed again after a lapse of time. This means you get the same downsides (cost, pain, and downtime) over and over again!

Overall, in my personal opinion, there are a lot of risks and downsides involved, making the decision to go ahead with these methods, not so attractive. Of course, this is a personal choice and peoples’ attitude towards this option might vary a great deal.

In general, my own rule of thumb would be to consider the option of cosmetic surgery or procedure only when you have a serious, specific problem area on your skin that needs action that is more drastic. In the case that you want to improve your overall appearance, then you are better off using anti aging skin care treatment products. Today in the market, there are products available which, when carefully selected, can bring about wonderful results on your skin.

My personal method is to use those anti aging skin products that contain ingredients proven to stimulate your skin regrow more collagen and elastin, the two most important skin proteins. These substances are the reason why your skin, when you were younger, was smooth and supple.

Of course, don’t expect results to be visible overnight. Just, be diligent at using these creams and you will see your skin getting smoother and more radiant as days go by.

Anti Aging Treatment

Everyone ages and it is a natural phenomenon but no one want to show there age. Anti-aging treatments are available to help you appear several years younger than you actually are. It is possible to look and feel younger in just a few days with the proper anti-aging treatment.

The first step in starting any type of anti aging treatment is to consult a knowledgeable skin care expert. Just going out and purchasing anti-aging skin care product off the shelf may give you some of the desired results but to obtain the maximum benefits you should first consult skin care expert. A skin care expert can evaluate the type of skin you have, determine the best course of action, and finally suggest the best products to use to get the maximum results.

The cause of the anti-aging treatment will depend largely on what type of treatment you need and if multiple treatments will be needed. For example; a surgical face peal, a procedure that removes the top layer of your skin from you face, will cost more that a chemical face peal. Using an ex foliate will cost less than a chemical face peal.

Shopping for an anti-aging treatment on a budget may not produce very effect results or the results may not last very long. Always check out the person who is administering the anti-aging treatment to make sure he or she is a professional. You should also use the Internet to determine if there are any hazards associated with the type of treatment you have elected to use. Wikipedia.org is a good place to start on the Internet. This website supplies an abundance of information on just about anything you want to know about and it does not try and sell you anything.

Most anti-aging clinics will give you a free assessment. After the clinic’s assessment you can determine the type and cost of the treatment you need. Since most medical insurance companies will not pay for any anti-aging treatment you will need to pay for the treatment out of your own pocket.

If the cost of the treatment is out of your budget then you may want to try some of the low cost, over the counter products that have been around for a long time and have been proven to produce some positive results.

Aloe Vera will help rejuvenate and tone skin all over. A naturally cooling gel, the Aloe Vera botanical ingredients work together to stimulate the blood circulation and naturally soften the skin.

Vitamin K which is popular among eye care products. It is also clinically proven to reduce dark circles around the eyes and treats spider veins. Vitamin K is also proven to be effective in treating broken capillaries and bruising.

Vitamin E is also clinically proven as an effective antioxidant. It also improves our skin’s moisture and content, but also has skin protection properties and is good in smoothing our skin.

Beta Carotene helps protect Vitamin C from oxidation, which enables it to perform at optimum efficiency. Symptoms of Beta Carotene deficiency include ache, dry dull hair, dry skin and thickened scaly skin on the palms and soles of the feet.

Bioflavanoids provide visible benefits to the anti-aging process such as reducing wrinkles, improving skin tone, helping to prevent sagging skin as well as improves pigmentation. Bioflavanoids are the brightly colored pigments found in most fruits and vegetables.

Foti also called He Shou Wu in China is legendary in its ability to lengthen life. Modern studies have show that Foti has the ability to lower serum cholesterol, prevent premature gray hair, promote red blood cell growth, and to increase longevity on a cellular level. This herb raises the level of the naturally occurring antioxidant Superoxide Dismutase (SOD) in the body.

Green Tea Contains antioxidants that may protect against heart disease, several types of cancer, and skin damage.

If you just feel that you need vitamins, supplements or herbs to fight the aging process then find a good health care professional prior to starting any type of home treatment.
