Disproving HGH Myths – What the HGH Anti-Aging Gurus Are Hiding
This is a simple list of some of the most common HGH claims, and the truth behind their claims. Some are partially true but require further study while others are totally false. There is a lot of misinformation circulating in the web, and this is an attempt to expose the reality of HGH and anti-aging.
Here are some of these claims and the truths behind them:
Claim:
“If you are 35 years of age or older, you will probably benefit from Human Growth Hormone and human growth hormone releasers and activators all of which help keep your HGH levels rising during periods of normal decline.”
Truth:
The truth is that HGH-releasers and activators have been shown to actually increase HGH levels, the only problem is that the increase only lasts for less than an hour. There is also no medical proof that the body can actually benefit from higher levels of HGH, in fact the body in more prone to the side effects of high levels of HGH such as joint pains and swelling, diabetes, high blood pressure, among others.
Claim:
“Around the age of 20-30, the body’s natural production of HGH begins to decline at the rate of 14% decrease per decade.”
Truth:
While it is true that HGH production decreases at around age 30, what they fail to mention is that there are natural means of keeping HGH production high such as enough sleep and anaerobic exercises.
Claim:
“The most effective anti-obesity “agent” ever discovered, HGH revs up the metabolism to former highs, selectively reducing the abdomen, hips, waist and thighs while at the same time increasing muscle mass.”
Truth:
Studies have shown that although lean body mass is actually increased, the cons in taking HGH by the obese is high likelihood of possible complications especially diabetes and increased incidence of a variety of cancers.
Claim:
“Medical studies have proven that positive gains occur only while growth hormone is being secreted. HGH significantly increases the effects of exercise and muscle building, including energy, muscle strength and endurance.”
Truth:
Studies and experiments have shown that although these is an increase in lean body mass, when asked to go to the gym to do resistance training for 6 months, those who did not take growth hormone were as strong as those who took it, and did not suffer the numerous side effects of those who took HGH while exercising.
Claim:
“Growth hormone appears to have a tonic effect on hair. In clinical tests 38% reported new hair growth, coming in faster and thicker, and even in its natural color.”
Truth:
It is true that HGH can increase hair growth, what they fail to inform you of is the fact that HGH is not selective. This means that hair can grow in many unwanted places, and there can be too much hair. These have been the side effects of those who took HGH to increase hair growth.
Claim:
“As a powerful aphrodisiac, HGH restores sexual potency and sexuality in older men. Women using it report increased libido, heightened pleasure and the equivalent of greater potency in men, which for the female is multiple orgasms. It also helps to alleviate menstrual and post-menopausal symptoms, and eliminate vaginal dryness.”
Truth:
There has been no in-depth study showing that HGH restores sexual potency. Of the studies already conducted none show a significant increase in libido and sexual prowess.
Hopefully this article has helped dispel any outrageous claims that the HGH Anti-aging gurus are saying. Some of what they claim are partially true, but they still often try to hide the ugly truth.
